Jane Campion Apologizes To Venus And Serena Williams

“The last thing I want to do is belittle amazing women.”

Jane Campion Ho nominated For 12 academic awards this year.

At last night’s Critics’ Choice Awards, Campion won Best Director, and the award was presented Venus And the Serena Williams – whom she addressed Campion, inappropriately, in her acceptance speech.

She said, “Serena and Venus, you are a marvel. However, you don’t play against guys like me.”

Many people are right took the case Campion’s comments – and now she’s apologizing.

at statment Submitted to the press, Campion retracted what she called “a thoughtless comment that equals what I do in the movie world with all that Serena Williams and Venus Williams have achieved.”
